The Two Minute Bio: Taika Waititi

Taika Waititi is a New Zealand film director, writer, comedian, actor, and painter. Taika Waititi was born in Wellington, New Zealand in August 1975.

He was a member of the ensemble So You’re a Man in college and was one half of the comedy duo The Humourbeasts. As an actor Waititi starred as Mostin in the television series The Strip in 2002.

He has also starred in the movies Scarfies, Snakeskin, A New Way Home, Futile Attraction, Eagle vs. Shark, Boy, Green Lantern, and What We Do in the Shadows.

He has produced, written, and/or directed the films Two Cars, One Night, Eagle vs. Shark, Boy, What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the WIlderpeople, and Moana. Waikiti has won more than 40 awards and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005 for Best Short Film, Live Action for Two Cars, One Night.

He most recently directed the film  Thor Ragnarok.
